Individual Doctor Bios & Areas of Expertise
Benjamin Heflin, D.O.
Dr. Heflin is an experienced physician dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care for individuals. With expertise in preventive care, chronic disease management, and overall wellness, Dr. Heflin focuses on building lasting relationships to help patients achieve their best health.
Benjamin Heflin earned his Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of South Florida, his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, and went on to complete his Family Medicine residency at St. Petersburg General Hospital. With a passion for medicine, Dr. Heflin takes a holistic approach to patient care.
Ashley Bellant, APRN, FNP-C
With a background as a Registered Nurse in emergency medicine and advanced education, including an Associate's Degree in Nursing from the State College of Florida, a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the University of South Tampa, and a Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University, Ashley Bellant brings extensive experience to Family Doctors of Englewood.
Ashley Bellant is committed to providing personalized, compassionate care, staying current with the latest medical advancements, and partnering with patients to support their long-term health and wellness. She has extensive expertise in the areas of family and emergency nursing, allowing her to understand a wide range of health conditions and patient needs. She is a dual board-certified Nurse Practitioner, certified by both the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
Sophia Nieto, MSN, APRN, FNP-C
Sophia Nieto has extensive experience in primary care, cardiovascular nursing, and serving as a travelling nurse during the COVID-19 pandemic. Fluent in Spanish, she is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered, holistic care and advocating for underserved communities.
Sophia Nieto, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with more than 13 years of healthcare experience and strong ties to the Sarasota community. A graduate of Riverview High School, she earned her nursing degrees from St. Petersburg College and the University of South Florida.
